Probably the most popular dike in the Hanseatic city stretches between Hemelingen and the city centre. When the weather is nice, people from Bremen meet on the spacious meadows at the Osterdeich to enjoy the view of the Weser. Whether barbecuing, making music together, strolling or simply relaxing - the dyke always attracts young and old to the fresh air and the Weser.

With a great view of the sun setting over the river, you can enjoy a warm summer evening at the Osterdeich. But it's also a better place to start the day than anywhere else. Many people like to use the dyke on the Weser for morning jogging and cycling. But also during the day, the 4100-metre long stretch of dyke invites you to relax and stroll against a maritime backdrop.

Planning an excursion? In the warmer months, the Sielwall ferry will take you from the Osterdeich to the opposite side of the river. Here the Weser beach awaits you. Spend the day on the beach with a view of the green meadows of the Osterdeich!

You will always find something happening on the Osterdeich

On warm summer days, many people from Bremen gather for a barbecue on the spacious meadows along the Weser. The Osterdeich is transformed into a green and white wall when the Weser Stadium calls for a home game. For five days in July, the Osterdeich is the venue for the Breminale. Attracting numerous visitors, it transforms the green spaces into a colourful open-air cultural festival with great live music, artistic shows and delicious culinary delights.
